Final #AEVB Weekly Awards of 2017 Handed Out
BOSTON – After an exciting regular season, the stage is set for the 2017 America East Volleyball Championship. Albany captured the league’s regular-season title and will host Binghamton, New Hampshire and Stony Brook for the conference tournament this weekend.

Here are the conference's final weekly award winners of 2017:
Player of the Week
Gaby Alicea, Binghamton – Jr., Outside Hitter, San Juan, P.R.
- Averaged a league-best 5.0 kills per set and hit .419 while averaging 4.0 digs per match in a key win over Stony Brook.
- This is Alicea’s third #AEVB Player of the Week honor of the season (10/17, 10/3) and fourth of her career.
Setter of the Week
Kelly Cameron, Albany – So., Setter, Cincinnati, Ohio
- Averaged a conference-best 12.0 assists per match last week as she totaled 48 assists and added 11 digs in a 3-1 win over Stony Brook.
- Albany hit a league-best .255 last week.
- This is Cameron’s fourth #AEVB Setter of the Week honor of the season (10/24, 10/17, 10/10) and fourth of her career.
Defensive Specialist of the Week
Nicole Otero, Albany – Jr., Libero, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico
- Had 30 digs and added six assists in a 3-1 win over Stony Brook Friday.
- This is the Otero’s sixth-straight #AEVB Defensive Specialist of the Week award of the season (11/6 10/31, 10/24, 10/17, 10/10) and 14th of her career.
Rookie of the Week
Emily Patlovich, New Hampshire – Fr., Setter, Lake Bluff, Ill.
- Averaged 7.7 assists and 2.3 digs per set in a 2-0 week for UNH as it clinched an #AEVB championship bid.
- This is Patlovich’s third #AEVB Rookie of the Week award of the season (11/6, 8/29).
