Albany, Binghamton, UNH, Stony Brook Set For 2017 #AEVB Championship
The field, seeds and matchups for the 2017 America East Volleyball Championship are set following the final day of the regular-season that saw New Hampshire and Stony Brook capture the final two tournament bids.
Albany, which won the league’s regular-season title for the 10th time since 2004, will be the #1 seed and host next week’s championship on Friday and Saturday.
Binghamton beat Stony Brook, 3-1, to earn the #2 seed for the second time in the last three seasons while New Hampshire, the four-time reigning league champion, beat UMBC, 3-0, to net the #3 seed. The Seawolves earned the final bid and #4 seed despite their loss to the Bearcats due their season sweep of the Retrievers.
The championship gets underway from Albany’s University Gym on Friday when #2 Binghamton meets #3 New Hampshire at 4 p.m. Top-seeded Albany will face #4 Stony Brook at 7 p.m. The semifinal winners will play for the conference title on Saturday at 5 p.m. All three matches will air on AmericaEast.TV.
