Final #AEWFH Weekly Honors Bestowed, #AEChamps Begins Thursday
BOSTON – After an exciting regular season, the stage is set for the 2017 America East Field Hockey Championship. Albany and Stanford earned the top divisional seeds as eight teams will embark on Lowell, Mass. for this week’s championship. Visit Championship Central for complete championship information.

Here are the conference's final weekly award winners of 2017:
Offensive Player of the Week
Kristina Bassi, Stanford – Sr., Forward, Mountain View, Calif.
- Tallied six points on two goals and two assists to help Stanford clinch the West #1 seed for the #AEFH Championship with a 6-2 win over UC Davis Saturday.
- This is Bassi’s first #AEFH Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kelsey Federico, UMass Lowell – Sr., Goalkeeper, Windham, N.H.
- Stopped all three shots she faced in relief duty to help UMass Lowell beat Vermont, 4-3, in double overtime Sunday.
- Came in with 10 minutes left in regulation and was perfect in 33:52 of action.
- This is Federico’s first #AEFH Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season and the fourth of her career.
Rookie of the Week
Bloem van den Brekel, New Hampshire – Fr., Forward, Eindhoven, Netherlands
- Scored twice and had an assist in two games last week vs. ranked foes last week.
- Scored the game winner in UNH’s 2-1 win at #25 Maine Sunday.
- This is van den Brekel’s second #AEFH Rookie of the Week honor of the season (8/29).
