UMBC, Vermont, Binghamton Net #AESD Week 3 Awards
BOSTON – Five America East swimming and diving teams competed last weekend including Stony Brook, who competed in its first meet since the return of the women's program. The men’s teams for UMBC and Binghamton picked up victories while three women’s teams triumphed, including Maine in their season-opener against Rhode Island.
Here are this week’s award winners:
Female Swimmer of the Week
Natalija Marin, UMBC – Fr., Butterfly, Belgrade, Serbia
- Earned first-place finishes in the 100 fly and 200 fly
- Touched the wall in times of 55.95 and 2:02.71, respectively
- It is her first #AESD Swimmer of the Week award of her career
Male Swimmer of the Week
Ilia Rattsev, UMBC – So., Freestyle, Moscow, Russia
- Won the 50 free in a time of 21.00
- Won the 100 free in a time of 46.64 and won the 200 free in 1:41.41
- It is his second Swimmer of the Week award this season
Female Diver of the Week
Haley Tomlinson, Vermont – Fr., Dives, Kensington, Md.
- Swept both diving events in Vermont’s win against Stony Brook
- Scored 214.35 in the 1-meter dive and 226.64 in the 3-meter dive
- It is her first Diver of the Week award of her career
Male Diver of the Week
Ryan O’Connell, Binghamton – Sr., Dives, Congers, N.Y.
- Won the 1-meter and 3-meter dives in Binghamton’s meet against Niagara
- Scored 257.05 in the 1m and 233.30 in the 3m
- It is his first #AESD Diver of the Week award this season
