BOSTON – Elinor Purrier again made headlines this past weekend, edging out the reigning national champion in a photo finish at the NCAA Pre-National meet in Louisville. New Hampshire was joined by UMass Lowell at the meet while Albany hosted their Great Dane Invitational.
Four America East cross country squads will compete in the CCSU Mini Meet this upcoming weekend before setting their sights on the America East Cross Country Championship. The championship will be held in St. Albans, Vermont on October 28.

Male Performer of the Week
Cameron Avery, Stony Brook – So., Christchurch, New Zealand
- Placed 15th with a time of 24:31.9 at the Princeton Invitational
- Avery led the Seawolves to a third-place finish
- This is his second #AEXC Performer of the Week award this season
Female Performer of the Week
Elinor Purrier, New Hampshire – Sr., Montgomery, Vt.
- Finished first overall at NCAA Pre-Nationals in Kentucky
- Purrier finished in a time of 19:28.5, beating out defending national champion Missouri's Karissa Schweizer in the final stretch
- It is Purrier’s second #AEXC Performer of the Week award of the season
