BOSTON - America East's men's soccer teams continued their strong start to the 2016 season, improving to 16-7-6 (.655) last week. Binghamton (2-0-2), UMass Lowell (4-0-0), New Hampshire (3-0-0) and Vermont (4-0-0) all remain unbeaten two weeks into the campaign. Here are the week two award winners:
Player of the Week
Brian Wright, Vermont - Sr., Forward, Ajax, Ontario
- Factored in on all eight Vermont goals last week, totaling 11 points on three scores and five assists in three wins.
- Scored the game-winning goal and assisted on another score in UVM's 2-0 win over Central Conn. State Monday.
- Had a goal and two assists in each of Vermont's wins over the weekend and earned Co-MVP honor of the Catamounts' Peter Baldwin Memorial Classic presented by Morgan Stanley.
- This is the fourth time Wright has earned America East Player of the Week honors in his career.
Rookie of the Week
Ivan Abramovic, UMass Lowell - R-Fr., Forward, Zagreb, Croatia
- Earned Rookie of the Week honors after leading UMass Lowell to a pair of overtime wins last week.
- Set up the game-winning overtime goal in the River Hawks' 1-0 extra-time win over Seton Hall Friday.
- Scored the game winner in overtime of Sunday's 2-1 win over St. Francs Brooklyn Sunday.
