BOSTON - Three America East men's soccer teams continue to receive national recognition with UMass Lowell and Vermont both appearing in the College Soccer News Top 30 this week. The River Hawks moved up to #24 while the Catamounts entered at #28 after previously getting recognized in the NSCAA Top 25. New Hampshire also received votes in the poll. Here are the week four award winners:
Player of the Week
Andrew Pesci, New Hampshire - Jr., Goalkeeper, Windham, N.H.
- Didn't allow a goal while making 14 saves in a pair of UNH shutouts last week.
- Made 12 stops, including 10 in the first half, in a 3-0 Wilcats' win at Colgate Friday. The Red Raiders entered the week ranked #2 in the NSCAA East Regional Poll.
- Pesci's 12 saves were the most for an America East goalkeeper in a shutout victory in 13 years. Albany's Bouna Coundoul had 13 saves in a 1-0 win over Lafayette on Sept. 13, 2003.
- Pesci made two saves in a 2-0 win at Cornell Sunday.
Rookie of the Week
Jack Dickson, New Hampshire - Fr., Midfielder/Forward, Bournemouth, England
- Scored in each of New Hampshire's two wins last week.
- Found the back of the net in the 20th minute to give UNH a 2-0 lead in its win at Colgate Friday.
- Cemented the Wildcats' 2-0 win at Cornell Sunday with his score in the 28th minute.
