BOSTON - Women's soccer was the first NCAA sport in the country to begin the 2016-17 season and all nine America East teams were in action on opening weekend. The conference finished with a 6-4-5 record overall. Here are the week one award winners:
Player of the Week
Vivien Beil, So., F, Maine, Jena, Germany
- Totaled one goal and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Black Bears.
- Had an assist in Maine's 2-0 win on opening day at LIU Brooklyn.
- Scored the first goal of the game for the Black Bears in a 2-1 win over Central Connecticut State.
Rookie of the Week
Kaila Lozada, Fr., M, Hartford, Newington, Conn.
- Netted the lone goal of the game in the 28th minute to lead the Hawks to a 1-0 victory at Manhattan on Friday.
- The goal was scored on her lone shot attempt.
- Became the second-straight freshman to record a goal for the Hawks in a season opener.

- Hartford head coach John Natale became the winningest coach in program history with 104 victories.
