EUGENE, Ore. - Six America East track and field standouts earned All-America honors from USTFCCCA Tuesday after competing in the 2016 NCAA Men's & Women's Track & Field Championship last week.
New Hampshire's Elinor Purrier and Laura Rose Donegan and Albany's Matthew Campbell highlighted the group as the trio each earned first-team honors.
Purrier and Donegan each garnered recognition in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Purrier, who earned her fourth All-American nod overall, finished third in the country with a time of 9:47.71 while Donegan earned her third career All-America honor with a sixth-place finish (9:52.57).
Campbell placed seventh overall in the high jump with a personal-best leap of 7-2¼ to take home first-team accolades.
Albany's Grace Claxton earned second-team All-America honors in the 400-meter hurdles while Binghamton's Jesse Garn and UMBC's Vincent Rentzsch received honorable mention recognition in the 800-meter run and javelin, respectively.
Overall, 27 America East student-athletes earned All-America status in 2015-16.
