LOWELL, Mass. – Top-seeded Binghamton and third-seeded Stony Brook both walked-off with wins on Friday at LeLacheur Park to advance to the 2016 America East Baseball Championship round. The Bearcats and Seawolves will play at noon on Saturday on AmericaEast.TV, with Stony Brook needing to win two games vs. the Bearcats to claim the title.

Binghamton started the day with an epic comeback, scoring nine runs in the ninth inning capped by a Jason Agresti walk-off grand slam to beat Hartford, 9-6, and advance out of the winners’ bracket to the championship round for the third time in four years.

After beating Albany, 10-4, in the team’s first elimination game on Friday, the Seawolves responded with dramatics of their own in the nightcap. Trailing 2-1 heading to the bottom of the ninth, Stony Brook scored twice to beat Hartford by a score of 3-2. This time, it was Jeremy Giles playing hero to send Stony Brook to its third-straight championship game.
