Albany's Heuser Garners CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large First Team Honors

ALBANY, N.Y. – University at Albany field hockey standout Paula Heuser collected College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District At-Large First Team honors for the second consecutive year, the organization announced Thursday. She is now automatically nominated for Academic All-America status.

A junior, Heuser holds a 3.83 GPA in Business Administration and is a three-time NFHCA All-American. The Monchengladbach, Germany native was selected to the All-District First Team after being named America East Field Hockey Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second time, garnering her third NFHCA Academic Squad spot and being tabbed for the America East All-Academic team.

In addition to her impressive academic performance, Heuser is a three-time NFHCA All-American and two-time member of the First Team. She is the two-time NFHCA Northeast Region Player of the Year, three-time America East Midfielder of the Year and three-time America East All-Conference First Team selection. Heuser is the NCAA active career leader across all three divisions in points (194) and goals (80).

CoSIDA members vote annually to pick the Academic All-District At-Large team in eight regions. The women’s at-large team includes student-athletes in the sports of beach volleyball, bowling, rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis and water polo. Heuser was one of 11 honorees in District 1, one of two field hockey student-athletes and one of three juniors.
