Eight America East Women's Lacrosse standouts have been named to Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaces' Association All-Region Teams, the organization announced on Friday.

America East teams lie in two separate regions - the Mid Atlantic and Northeast. Stony Brook had four members selection to the All-Mid Atlantic First Team in senior Alyssa Fleming, juniors Courtney Murphy and Dorrien Van Dyke and sophomore Kylie Ohlmiller.

Four Albany women's lacrosse players were selected to All-Northeast Teams. Junior Dakotah Savitcheff was named to the first team, while seniors Rachel Bowles and Christine Johnson and junior Sarah Martin were second team honorees.

Fleming was Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the America East in 2016 and ranks in the top 20 nationally in caused turnovers. Murphy, who became the first player in women's lacrosse history to score 100 goals, was the America East Offensive Player of the Year and America East Championship Most Outstanding Player.

Van Dyke and Ohlmiller were America East first-team all-conference honorees and join Murphy in making up the only set of three teammates nationally who all have 65 or more points. Murphy and Van Dyke are one of just two pairs of 50-goal scorers nationally, while Ohlmiller has tallied 40 goals and 40 assists for the second consecutive year to join Murphy as Tewaaraton nominees.

Savitcheff took a spot on the First Team after scoring 58 goals in her junior campaign. She led the team in points with 64 overall, scoring in 16 of 17 games this season and recording four or more goals on nine occasions in 2016. An America East All-Tournament and First Team All-Conference selection, Savitcheff went for eight goals in two games on attack during America East postseason play. This marks her second IWLCA All-Region honor, earning a nod on the Second Team last season.

Johnson captured her first All-Region award on the Second Team. UAlbany’s human clear, she is a three-time America East First Team All-Conference member. The defender was named America East Co-Defensive Player of the Year this past season after recording 18 caused turnovers, 21 draw controls and 22 ground balls. Johnson concluded her career last weekend with 103 draw controls, 67 ground balls and 40 caused turnovers in 68 appearances.

Martin emerged as one of the Purple & Gold’s top all-around midfielders in 2016, notching a spot on the IWLCA All-Region Second Team. An America East All-Conference First Team and All-Tournament selection, she led the squad in draw controls, caused turnovers and ranked second in points with 30 goals and 28 assists. Martin won at least two draws in each of her last 11 games, and averaged 3.41 points per contest.

Bowles was named All-Region for the third straight season, after earning her second consecutive nod to the Tewaaraton Watch List. A graduate student, Bowles became the all-time UAlbany program leader in career points (233) and career goals (175) in her fifth year. The midfielder garnered America East All-Conference First Team honors for the third straight season in 2016, and scored 37 goals.
