BOSTON – Many America East teams kicked off their spring season this past weekend.

Men's Track Performer of the Week
Hassan Omar, UMBC - Sr., Frederick, Md.
- Hassan kicked off the outdoor season breaking the school record in the 10,000m run.
- The senior finished the race with a time of 29:31, breaking the school mark of 30:17 set all the way back in 1985.
- His time is currently 12th-best in the country.
Women's Track Performer of the Week
Kaylyn Gordon, Stony Brook - So., Spring Valley, N.Y.
- Won the 100m and 4x100m relay and finished second in the 200m at the Stony Brook Quad Meet.
- Won the 100 in in 12.13 - time ranks third in the America East.
She was part of the winning 4x100 relay team (47.27).
Finished second in 200m in 25.33 - time ranks second in the America East.
Men's Field Performer of the Week
Vincent Rentzsch, UMBC - Sr., Oranienburg, Germany
- Rentzsch broke his own school record in the javelin on Saturday with a toss of 74.28m (243'8"), en route to winning the event.
- His throw is currently 9th-best in the country.
Women's Field Performer of the Week
Michelle Jaquint, UMass Lowell – Fr., Mattapoisett, Mass.
- Jaquint won the triple jump with a leap of 34-feet, 9 ¾-inches.
- The distance was one-quarter inch further than the second place finisher.
Weekly Performers of the Week
