Stony Brook senior forward Jameel Warney was named an All-American by the Associated Press for the third time on Tuesday. One of the greatest men's basketball players in America East history, Warney was an honorable mention selection.
Warney, a three-time America East Player of the Year, led the league this year averaging 19.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.0 blocks per game and by shooting 63 percent from the field. The Most Outstanding Player of the America East Playoffs, Warney averaged 30.3 points and 15.3 rebounds in leading the Seawolves to their first-ever America East title. He matched a championship game record by scoring 43 points in the title game.
Warney finished his career ranked among America East leaders in several categories. He ranks ninth in scoring (2,392 points), second in rebounding (1,275 rebounds) and sixth in blocks (276).
