Albany senior forward Shereesha Richards added to her list of accolades on Monday, earning Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention recognition for the second-straight season.
Richards is only the second America East women's basketball player ever to be honored as an Associated Press All-Ameircan joining Maine's Cindy Blodgett who earned the honor in 1998. The second-ever three-time America East Player of the Year finished her career second on the league's all-time scoring list with 2,440 career points.
She currently stands sixth in Division I with 23.4 points per game, adding 8.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals per contest. She had 24 20+ point games and 10 double-doubles during the season. Her 772 total points are the third-most in a single season in America East history.
Richards led Albany to an unprecedented fifth-straight title, becoming the second player to be named the America East Tournament Most Outstanding Player in three-striaight seasons.
