BOSTON  - Reigning America East softball champion Binghamton enjoyed a strong weekend, going 3-1 while Stony Brook won a pair of games, including a victory over Maryland. Read about the week #2 weekly award winners below:

Player of the Week
Chrysti Eichner, Bingahmton -  Jr., SS, Pinebush, N.Y.

  • Hit .615/.643/.1.385 in a 3-1 week for Binghamton.
  • Belted five extra base hits including two home runs, a double and a triple.
  • Drove in eight and scored five runs.
  • Scored a pair of runs and drove in a pair. 

Pitcher of the Week
Jessica Holte, UMBC - Jr., P, Ashland, Va.

  • Returned from injury to fire a complete-game shutout of Lafayette in her only outing. 
  • Allowed just three hits, walked none and fanned four. 

Rookie of the Week
Sarah Petzold, Albany - Fr., OF, Carol Stream, Ill.

  • Hit .462/.500./846 in four games. 
  • Had a HR and two doubles.
  • Knocked in four and scored three runs.
