BOSTON - It was a great week of non-conference play in America East baseball as four of the seven programs won at-least two games. Hartford traveled to North Florida and swept the Ospreys for the team's first 3-0 start since 2000. Albany, Maine and UMass Lowell each won a pair of games, with the Great Danes taking 2 of 3 from North Carolina A&T, Maine splitting four games at New Mexico State and UMass Lowell beating Nicholls State twice.

Player of the Week
Tyler Schwanz, Maine, Jr., OF, Novi, Michigan
- Led the conference last week with a .667 batting average, going 10-for-15 in four games at New Mexico State.
- Totaled four extra-base hits including three doubles and a home run for a league-best 1.067 slugging percentage.
- Drove in six runs and scored three more, helping the Black Bears split four games.
- Had three hits in three of the four games.
- Notched a .706 on-base percentage.
Pitcher of the Week
Kyle Gauthier, Hartford, Sr., RHP, Lynn, Mass.
- Tossed a complete game and earned the victory to open the season at North Florida.
- Threw just 88 pitches in the outing, striking out six
- Only allowed one run and seven hits in his outing, holding opponents to a .226 batting average.
Rookie of the Week
Steve Passatempo, UMass Lowell, Fr., 1B, Medford, Mass.
- Led the league with 3 home runs and 11 RBI last week while playing in his first collegiate games at Mississippi State.
- Went 8-for-17 (.471) with a 1.000 slugging percentage
- Had four RBI in both wins over Nicholls State, including a grand slam in a 9-6 victory to close the weekend.
- Scored four runs
- Every home run came with runners on base (3-run, 2-run, grand slam)
