BOSTON – Eight of the nine America East schools were in action last weekend. Both the Albany men and women took second at the Villanova Invitational. Binghamton’s men and women broke a combined total of six school records. Vermont men and women both took fourth in the Scarlet and White Invitational held at Boston University. New Hampshire’s men and women took fourth in the University of Rhode Island Coaches vs. Domestic Violence meet. Maine men defeated Holy Cross in a dual meet. Men's Track Performer of the Week
Hassan Omar, UMBC - Sr., Frederick, Md.
- Placed first overall in the men’s 3000-meter race at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge with a time of 8:05.13 breaking the UMBC school record.
- His run was 39th-best in the nation last week and best in the America East this season by 11.61 seconds.
Women's Track Performer of the Week
Keishorea Armstrong, Binghamton - Jr., Chatham, N.Y.
- Swept the women’s 60 and 200 meters at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge with times of 7.43 and 24.11 respectively.
- Her 60 and 200 meters were 48th and 75th best in the national last week respectively.
- Her 60-meter dash time broke her previously set record of 7.48 in 2014.
Men's Field Performer of the Week
Matthew Campbell, Albany - Jr., Spanish Town, Jamaica
- Placed first overall in the men’s high jump at the Villanova Invitational with a mark of 7-feet 0.25-inches.
- His jump was 33rd-best in the nation last week.
Women's Field Performer of the Week
Solene Bastien, Albany – Sr., Saverne, France
- Placed first overall in the women’s triple jump at the Villanova Invitational with a mark of 40-feet 4.25-inches.
Notes:
- Binghamton’s Peter Fagan and Joe Miceli are tied as 48th-best in the nation for the pole vault with a mark of 16-feet 9.5-inches at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge.
- Vermont’s Dan Moroney took 1st in the 5000-meter race at the Scarlet and White Invatational with a time of 14:33.84. His time was 73rd- best in the nation last week.
