  • A stretch of four games in eight days kicks off some teams Saturday.
  • All four games will air on AmericaEast.TV.
  • Albany hosts Vermont in the game of the day as the Great Danes lead the Catamounts by just a game for second place in the league standings.
    • Both teams have won four of their last five games
    • Albany has won four straight in the series, including a 69-57 win on Jan. 9.
  • Stony Brook will try to improve to 10-0 in conference play when visits UMass Lowell.
    • The Seawolves have the nation's longest win streak at 15 games.
    • Two of the top big men in the league square off in Stony Brook's Jameel Warney (18.0 ppg, 10.4 rpg) and UMass Lowell's Jahad Thomas (13.0 ppg, 7.4 rpg).
  • Maine hosts UMBC at the Portland Expo Center. 
    • The Black Bears and Retrievers are two of the top scoring teams in the league with Maine second (76.7 ppg) and UMBC fifth (72.3 ppg).
    • Jairus Lyles scored 27 points to lead UMBC to a 89-76 win in the two teams' first meeting.
  • Binghamton hosts New Hampshire in a mid-afternoon contest. 
    • UNH held Binghamton to just 43 points in its first matchup with Binghamton, a 58-43 Wildcat win.
  • Stony Brook sits atop the league standings at 9-0. SBU is just the third team in 12 years to start league play 9-0 (Albany, 2014-15; Vermont, 2004-05).
  • Scoring is up considerably in league play from a year ago with teams averaging 73.7 points per game, up 11.9 points from the midway point last year.
  • Stony Brook holds a league-best RPI of 54 (as of 2/1), the best rating for an America East team this late in the season since Vermont’s 2004-05 squad finished at #25.
  • The Seawolves are ranked 17th in the CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Top 25 and received one vote in the AP Top 25 poll.
  • Second-place Albany (7-2) has won 16 of its last 19 games and is a perfect 10-0 at home this season.
  • Jameel Warney is one of just two players in the country (New Mexico State’s Pascal Siakam) to lead his conference in scoring (18.0 ppg), rebounding (10.4 rpg) and blocks (3.1 bpg). 
  • Warney moved into third place on the conference's all-time rebound list last week and currently has 1,137 for his career.
  • America East ranks 23rd out of 32 Division I conferences in RPI, according to the Jan. 25 College Basketball News RPI Report, a three-spot improvement from this time last year.
  • Seven of America East’s nine teams have better RPIs than at this time last year.
