College basketball season begins Friday November 11th! Be sure to check out our daily previews of all nine America East schools. Here are some key notes on UMass Lowell women's basketball:
- In her third year as head coach, Jenerrie Harris welcomes her largest incoming class to UMass Lowell as the River Hawks have eight newcomers joining the program.
- Three of the team's top-four scorers from last year return to the River Hawks in Kayla Gibbs (11.9 ppg), Nicole Hayner (11.7 ppg) and Asia Mitchell-Owns (7.5 ppg).
- Two of the newcomers are transfers including Tyshay Britten, who played in 16 games at North Carolina Central last year, and Kiana Batagelj, who was a team captain at Hillsborough Community College.
- The River Hawks take on five 20-game winners from 2015, and two NCAA Tournament teams in Maryland and UAlbany.
- UMass Lowell begins the season on Friday, Nov. 11 at Towson at 7 p.m.
