STOCKTON, Calif. - Stanford and Albany, the top seeds in the 2016 America East Field Hockey Championship, survived tough tests from No. 4 seeds UMass Lowell and UC Davis to the advance to the tournament’s semifinals Thursday at the University of the Pacific. The Cardinal broke a 2-2 tie with 2:50 left to beat the River Hawks, 3-2, in the first game of the day while the Great Danes scored three times to oust the Aggies, 3-0, in the night cap.

Katie Keyser’s goal with 2:48 left sent Stanford, the 13th-ranked team in the nation, to the semifinals for the second-straight year. The Cardinal will face the winner of East #2 seed Maine and West #3 California in the championship’s first semifinal Saturday at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT.
