College basketball season begins Friday November 11th! Be sure to check out
our daily previews of all nine America East schools. Here are some key notes on
Hartford men's basketball:
  • The Hawks were picked eighth in the America East preseason poll after reaching the semifinals of the America East Championship a year ago.
  • Senior Jalen Ross leads a group of six regulars who return from last year’s season-ending rotation. He is the team’s top returning scorer (10.2 ppg in 2015-16).
  • Sophomore John Carroll also returns after missing all but five games last year due to injury. He was off to a promising start last year, averaging 11.2 points and 5.6 rebounds before the injury.
  • Hartford is perennially one of the most dangerous teams in the league from three-point land. Last season, they led the league with 310 made, 79 more than any other team.
  • Hartford opens its season at Central Conn. State on Nov. 11 and will participate in ESPN’s Tip-Off Marathon on Nov. 15 by hosting Niagara at 6:30 a.m. on ESPN2.
