College basketball season begins Friday November 11th! Be sure to check out our daily previews of all nine America East schools. Here are some key notes on Stony Brook men's basketball:

  • Stony Brook is coming off arguably its best season in program history as it won 26 games, its first-ever America East title and earned an NCAA tournament berth for the first time.
  • Jeff Boals takes over as the Seawolves’ head coach after spending the last seven years as an assistant coach at Ohio State, where he helped the Buckeyes reach the Final Four in 2012.
  • Lucas Woodhouse and Bryan Sekunda lead a group of returnees that helped the Seawolves achieve unprecedented success in 2016-17.
  • Woodhouse averaged 6.7 points and 3.6 assists per game while Sekunda shot nearly 40 percent from three-point range and contributed 7.3 points per game.
  • The Seawolves will host Columbia in their season opener Friday and will welcome back former head coach Steve Pikiell on Dec. 10 when they host Rutgers.
