College basketball season begins Friday November 11th! Be sure to check out our daily previews of all nine America East schools. Here are some key notes on Albany men's basketball:

  • The Great Danes were selected third in the America East preseason poll after winning a Division I program record 24 regular-season games last year and making their fifth-straight postseason appearance.
  • Will Brown is the longest tenured head coach in America East, entering his 16th year. His program has won 110 games over the last five seasons, tied for the second most in the conference (Vermont).
  • The conference’s reigning Rookie and Sixth Man of the Year, Joe Cremo, headlines Albany’s seven returnees. The preseason All-Conference selection averaged 10.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in just over 20 minutes per game last year.
  • Mike Rowley and Greg Stire will help make up one of the best front courts in the league. The tandem combined for 15.9 points and 12.5 rebounds per game last year while shooting 56 percent from the floor.
  • Albany kicks off its season at Penn State on Nov. 11 in a matchup of coaches who have won America East titles (Pat Chambers). The Great Danes will host the battle for the Albany Cup with Siena for the first time on Nov. 27.
