UMBC's Escobedo Breaks Record, Joins Binghamton's Campbell with #AESD Weekly Awards

BOSTON – Week three in swimming and diving was headlined by a new pool record at UMBC. Vermont had a week off, but all other teams were in action and it was Binghamton with the big weekend, getting victories over both Siena and Niagara. Here are the week two award winners:

 

Swimmer of the Week
Emily Escobedo, UMBC – Sr., Breast/IM, New Rochelle, N.Y.

  • The senior won three individual events, including both the 100 and 200 breast with times of 1:03.64 and 2:14.06 respectively
  • She had previously qualified for NCAA's in these events last week.
  • In the 200 IM, she finished in a time of 2:03.15, breaking the previous pool record that she set last year in 2:03.56

 

Diver of the Week
Jaime Campbell, Binghamton - Fr., Clifton Park, N.Y.

  • Against Siena and Niagara she finished second in the 3m diving and third in the 1m with scores of 204.90 and 195.46, respectively
