BOSTON – The past week in America East cross country was highlighted by a successful showing at the Princeton XC Invitational as well as several teams participating in the Pre-National Invitational at Indiana State University. It was Stony Brook who finished fourth in both men’s and women’s meets at the Princeton Invitational. The UMBC women’s squad finished seventh.
New Hampshire and UMass Lowell both represented America East at Pre-Nationals, while Albany swept their meets at the UAlbany Invitational.

Women’s Performer of the Week
Elinor Purrier, New Hampshire – Sr., Distance Runner, Montgomery, Vt.
- Finished 5th overall at Pre-National Invitational at Indiana State University with a time of 20:15.4
- There were 42 schools and 285 runners in the 6K meet
- The four finishers ahead of Purrier represented Michigan, Colorado, Cal Poly and Missouri
Men’s Performer of the Week
Patrick Coppinger, Vermont - Sr., Distance Runner, Lowell, Mass.
- Took second overall in Friday’s race and first for Vermont with a time of 25:02
- This time was an 8K personal-best
- Was the first of three Vermont runners in the top-5 overall (Chris Gish 2nd, Aaron Lucci 5th)
