BOSTON - The conference season passed the midway point over the weekend and just two weeks of league play remain before eight teams will descend on University of the Pacific for the 2016 America East Field Hockey Championship Nov. 3-6. Here are the week eight award winners:
Offensive Player of the Week
Ashley Mendonca, New Hampshire - Jr., Midfielder, Brampton, Ontario
- Tallied three goals in a pair of games against ranked teams last week.
- Scored both goals, both which came in the second half, in UNH's 2-1 win at #17 Albany Sunday.
- Also found the back of the cage in the Wildcats' 2-1 loss at #13 Boston College Friday.
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Kelsey Rudert, New Hampshire - So., Goalkeeper, North Grafton, Mass.
- Compiled an .824 save percentage and 1.50 GAA in two games against ranked teams last week.
- Made a career-high nine saves in UNH's 2-1 win at #17 Albany Sunday.
- Had five stops in a 2-1 loss at #13 Boston College Friday.
- This is her second Defensive Player of the Week award of the season (9/6)
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Lexi Collins, California - Sr., B/F, Ann Arbor, Mich.
- Made her first career appearance in goal, stopping three shots without allowing a goal in 46 minutes of action in Cal's 3-1 win over Maine Sunday.
- With no other goalkeeper dressed for the game, Carter, a field player, relieved Kori Griswold, who left with an injury.
Rookie of the Week
Katrina Carter, California - So., B/M, Gilroy, Calif.
- Scored the game-winning goal in Cal's 3-1 win over Maine Saturday.
