BOSTON – All nine America East indoor track & field teams competed last week. New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Hartford all took part in the Joe Donahue Games; UMBC and Stony Brook competed at the NYC Gotham Cup; Binghamton and Albany both took part in the Upstate Challenge; and UMass Lowell competed in the BU Multi Team Meet. Men's Track Performer of the Week
Bradley Amazan, Stony Brook - Sr., Amityville, N.Y.
- Placed second overall in the 1,000-meter race with a time of 2:28.16.
Women's Track Performer of the Week
Christina Melian, Stony Brook - Jr., Staten Island, N.Y.
- Placed first overall in the 3,000-meter race with a time of 9:17.84.
- Her run was 3rd-best in the nation last week and best in the America East by 11.45-seconds.
Men's Field Performer of the Week
Jonathan Eustache, Albany - Jr., Rosedale, N.Y.
- Placed first in the weight throw with a mark of 66-feet 11.5-inches.
- His jump was the 21st-best in the nation last week.
Women's Field Performer of the Week
Jaclyn Masters, Maine – Sr., Auburn, Maine
- Won the pole vault clearing 13-feet 1.50-inches.
- Her pole vault was 44th-best in the nation last week.
Notes:
- Vermont’s Ian Weider placed first in the long jump at the Joe Donahue Games with a jump of 7.36-meters, which was the 40th–best in the nation last week.
- Vermont’s Mallory Honan took first as well in the Joe Donahue Games with a mark of 5.82-meters, which was 79th-best in the nation last week.
- Stony Brook’s Kaylyn Gorfon placed second in the long jump at the NYC Gotham Cup with a jump of 5.91-meters, which ranked her 51st-best in the nation last week.
