BOSTON - America East teams racked up three more wins against squads that reached the NCAA Tournament last year, increasing the season total to six, with UMBC beating both Ohio State and Oakland and Hartford downing Monmouth.

Here are the week second weekly award winners of the season:

Player of the Week
Darius Madison, UMBC - Sr., Forward, Philadelphia, Pa.

  • Scored a pair of goals last week to lead UMBC to wins over 2014 NCAA Tournament participants Ohio State and Oakland.
  • Tallied the game winner in each game.
  • Had the lone goal in the 59th minute of Friday's 1-0 win over Ohio State.
  • Netted a gorgeous left-footed strike from 25 yards out in the 63rd minute against Oakland to give UMBC a 2-1 win Sunday.
  • Named to Westin/Sheraton BWI Classic All-Tournament Team.

Rookie of the Week
Carlos Clark, Albany - Fr., Midfielder, Teaneck, N.J.

  • Scored the game-winning goal in Albany's 2-0 road win at George Mason Saturday.
  • Took a feed from Moosah Khanat and found the back of the net in the 75th minute.
  • The Patriots were chosen third in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll.

Notes

  • America East tallied a winning record for the second-straight week, going 6-4-3, and improving to 14-8-4 on the season, a .616 winning percentage.
  • Three of those wins came over teams that reached the NCAA Tournament a year ago (UMBC over Ohio State and Oakland, Hartford over Monmouth).
  • UMBC won the Westin/Sheraton BWI Classic after beating both Ohio State and Oakland over the weekend.
  • The Retrievers, who are 3-0-1 on the season, are ranked 17th in the latest College Soccer News Poll.
  • Hartford beat Monmouth, the MAAC preseason favorite, 3-1, behind a pair of goals from Brian Richards.
  • Albany (over George Mason), Binghamton (over Manhattan) and UMass Lowell (over LIU Brooklyn) also earned wins last week.
  • UMBC's Darius Madison, who was named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week, leads the conference with seven points on three goals and an assist.
  • Albany's Eric Orologio hasn't allowed a goal in a pair of games this season and is one of 15 keepers in the country (among those who qualify) who hasn't allowed a goal this season.
