BOSTON - Battling a competitive field, Stony Brook's Christina Melian placed first among 206 runners at Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown Friday that featured four nationally-ranked teams. Melian earned Division I National Athlete of the Week Honors from the USTFCCCA for her efforts.

Women's Performer of the Week
Christina Melian, Stony Brook - Jr., Staten Island, N.Y.
- Won the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown Friday, completing the 5K course in 16:50.
- The field consisted of 206 competitors and runners from four nationally-ranked teams.
- Was named USTFCCCA Division I National Athlete of the Week Monday.
- This is Melian's second America East honor of the season. She also won the award Sept. 8.
Men's Performer of the Week
Paul Hogan, UMass Lowell - So., Gorham, Maine
- Was the top America East finisher at the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown Friday, finishing the 8K course in 24:36.4.
- Placed 29th overall out of 189 runners.

- New Hampshire women (10th of 24) and UMass Lowell men (11th of 21) were the top finishing America East programs at the event.
- Stony Brook's Christina Melian placed first among 206 runners to win the event.

- UMass Lowell's Paul Hogan was the top America East finisher at the event, placing 29th.
- UMBC men are ranked seventh in the latest USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll while UMass Lowell entered the Northeast Poll at 13th and Binghamton is 14th.
- New Hampshire women are eighth in the women's USTFCCCA Northeast Poll while Albany entered the poll for the first time in 13th and Stony Brook is 14th.
