BOSTON - It was a light week for America East's cross country squads as only six of the conference's 18 programs were in action. Maine and New Hampshire met in a dual meet while Vermont competed at Iona.
Here are the week three top performers of the season:
Men's Performer of the Week
Jesse Orach, Maine - Jr., Gorham, Maine
- Was the individual winner of Friday's dual meet with New Hampshire.
- Completed the course in 26:34, over 22 seconds faster than any competitor.
- Led Maine to a team win over UNH.
Women's Performer of the Week
Alex Giese, New Hampshire - Sr., Franklin, Mass.
- Was the individual winner of Friday's dual meet with New Hampshire.
- Completed the course in 19:13.20
- Led UNH to a team win over Maine.
Notes
- Maine and New Hampshire split the men's and women's races at their dual meet Friday with Black Bears taking the men's race and the Wildcats winning the women's.
- On the men's side, Maine took the top four spots in the race, led by Jesse Orbah's winning time of 26:34.
- Senior Alex Giese led the way for the UNH women as the first of four straight Wildcats to cross the finish line.
- Vermont competed at Iona's Meet of Champions with the men placing fourth and the women eight.
- UMBC men are ranked seventh in the latest USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll and Binghamton is 13th in the Northeast Poll.
- New Hampshire women are fourth in the women's USTFCCCA Northeast Poll while Stony Brook is 13th.
