BOSTON - Week five of the America East women's soccer season saw four different student-athletes register two-goal games, including this week's Player of the Week. Hartford extended its unbeaten streak to six-straight games with a win and a tie this week, while Vermont finished 1-0-1 this week that included a thrilling victory over URI.
Here are the week five award winners:
Player of the Week
Rylee Osgood, Vermont , So, F, Harvard, Mass.
- Registered her first career multi-goal game scoring two goals in a four-minute span in the second half at URI to lead the Catamounts to a come-from-behind 3-2 victory on Sunday.
- Netted the game-winning goal, the first of her career, in the 71st minute.
- Has three goals on the season.
Rookie of the Week
Julia Schneider, UMass Lowell, Fr.,
- Posted her second straight shut out of her career in a 2-0, win over Bryant.
- Her back-to-back blank sheets resulted in the programs first win streak since going D1.
- Recorded four saves in the win.
Notes
- Hartford has gone unbeaten in each of its last six games, as it is 5-0-1 since dropping a 1-0 decision to Manhattan last month
- Each of the Hawks’ five wins during their unbeaten streak have been shutout.
- Hartford’s current six-game unbeaten streak is its longest since 2012. That season, the Hawks went unbeaten for a stretch of eight games, going 7-0-1 during that stretch
- UAlbany recorded its first-ever win over Quinnipiac
- UMass Lowell had its first winning streak since going DI with back-to-back victories.
