BOSTON - America East field hockey teams picked up three more wins over ranked teams last week, raising the total to five for the 2015 season. Albany beat #8 Maryland while Cal upset #14 Penn State and Stanford downed #15 Iowa.
Here are the three weekly award winners of the season:
Player of the Week
Paula Heuser, Albany - Jr., Midfielder, Mochengladbach, Germany
- Tallied six points last week in three games, leading Albany to two wins.
- Set up the lone goal in Albany's 1-0 win at Hofstra Tuesday.
- Factored in on both Great Dane scores, scoring a goal and adding an assist in Friday's 2-1 win at #8 Maryland.
- Scored in a 4-2 loss to #2 North Carolina Sunday.
- This is her second Player of the Week honor of the season and sixth of her career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Dulcie Davies, Stanford - Sr., Goalkeeper, London, England
- Led Stanford to three wins last week, posting a 2.06 GAA and .852 save percentage.
- Made nine stops, including a pair on a key sequence late in Stanford's 3-2 win at #15 Iowa.
- Stopped 14 shots, two off her career high, in a 4-2 win over Kent State Sunday.
Rookie of the Week
Samantha Wagg, Maine - Fr., Defender, Victoria, Australia
- Tallied five points last week as Maine went 2-0.
- Racked up all five points on two goals and an assist in a 7-1 win over Harvard Sunday.
- The points were the first of her career.

- America East teams are a combined 32-22 on the young season.
- Three teams posted wins over ranked foes last week with Albany beating #8 Maryland while Cal upsetting #14 Penn State and Stanford downing #15 Iowa.
- Stanford and Albany both remained ranked in the top seven with the Cardinal coming in at #5 and the Great Danes #7.
- America East and the ACC are the only leagues with multiple teams ranked in the nation's top seven.
- Stanford extended its win streak to six with three wins in Iowa.
- Albany went 2-1, including a 2-1 win a #8 Maryland, the second-straight season the Great Danes have won at College Park.
- Albany is just the second team ever to win at Maryland in consecutive seasons.
- Cal knocked off #14 Penn State, 3-2, Friday.
- Maine beat Providence and Harvard to improve to 5-1 on the year.
- Stanford and Cal battle in the first conference game of the year on Friday.
