Binghamton's Robert Moewes and UMass Lowell's Wuilito Fernandes, both first team America East men's soccer standouts a year ago, have been recognized as two of the nation's top players heading into the 2015 season. The duo were among 30 Division I players named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List on Wednesday. The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer presented annually to one male and one female athlete.

America East is just one of seven conferences, out of 24 total, with multiple players named to the Watch List. The lists are compiled by the NSCAA Men’s and Women’s NCAA Division I All-America Committees, based on analysis of returning All-America and All-Region players, as well as any prominent newcomers.

Moewes, a junior goalkeeper, was a first-team All-Region selection as well as the America East Goalkeeper of the Year a year ago.

Fernandes, a junior defender, was a unanimous first team selection in the backfield last season.

Near the end of the collegiate regular season, NCAA Division I coaches whose programs are current NSCAA College Services members will vote on their top choices and the lists will be narrowed down to the top 15 players. College soccer fans will also have the opportunity to participate in the selection process, by voting for their favorite semifinalist in November at the MAC Hermann Trophy website, managed by LockerDome.

From that pool of 30, six finalists (three men, three women) will be chosen for the award. The winners will be announced in January.
