BOSTON - America East women's soccer became the first sport to take the field in 2015 and registered a 6-4-3 non-conference record over the opening weekend. Five teams went unbeaten over the weekend, including Maine, which started 2-0-0 with a pair of 1-0 wins. Binghamton, Hartford, Vermont and Albany also notched victories, and New Hampshire had a pair of scoreless ties.
Here are the week one weekly award winners.
Co-Player of the Week
Aaliyah Ingram, Hartford, Jr., MF, Northport, N.Y.
- Notched her first career multi-goal game, scoring twice in a 4-1 season-opening win over Siena.
- Recorded what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 44th minute.
- Had just two career goals entering the game.
- Was the only America East player to record multiple goals on opening weekend.
Co-Player of the Week
Mimi Borkan, New Hampshire, Jr., GK, Medfield, Mass.
- Did not allow a goal in 220 minutes of action, helping New Hampshire earn a pair of scoreless ties vs. Rhode Island and UMass.
- Recorded 12 saves over the two games, including nine against UMass.
- It is the first time since 1986 New Hampshire has started the season with two shutouts.
Rookie of the Week
Julia Carr, Hartford, Fr., MF, Guilford, Conn.
- Scored her first career collegiate goal ina 4-1 win over Siena.
- Carr's goal in the 34th minute was the first of the game for the Hawks.
- Added an assist later in the game to become the only America East freshman to have a goal and an assist in a single game so far this season.

- Hartford is unbeaten in its last five season openers, going 3-0-2 in that stretch.
- Vermont is 7-1-1 went Nikki McFarland scores a goal.
- Vermont senior Ally Ramos picked up her 10th career shutout with two saves in a 1-0 win over Iona.
- Five freshmen scored over the weekend including Albany's Mariah Williams, UMBC's Jenna Denis, Hartford's Julia Carr, Maine's Vivien Beil and Binghamton's Julianne Johnston. Both Beil and Johnston were credited with game-winning goals for their teams.
