FORT WORTH, Texas - Stony Brook baseball will take on Sacred Heart Saturday at 3:30 PM on ESPN3 in an NCAA Fort Worth Regional elimination game. The Seawolves battled No. 24 North Carolina State on Friday, but fell, 3-0, to the Wolfpack. The Pioneers dropped their NCAA opener to host TCU, 10-0.
The winner of the game will stay alive to play Sunday against the loser of TCU and N.C. State who play at 8 p.m. ET.

NCAA Notes
- Stony Brook is the first team in conference history to receive a No. 3 seed in a regional under the current NCAA format. Every other team has been a No. 4 seed.
- Stony Brook won its 5th America East title, tied for the second-most in conference history and just one behind Delaware for the most in league history, with three-straight wins in the 2015 America East Championship.
- Stony Brook became the first team since the 2012 Seawolves to finish unbeaten in the championship.
- America East teams have won games in the NCAA Championship in four of the last six years, but have not won since Stony Brook’s run to the College World Series in 2012.
- The 2012 Seawolves were the first America East team under the current NCAA tournament format to advance to the College World Series. Stony Brook came out of the Coral Gables Regional by beating Miami, losing to UCF, then winning three-straight (one vs. Missouri State and two vs. UCF) to advance to the Baton Rouge Super Regional. They took the best-of-three series, 2-1, over LSU after losing game one.
- This is the second-straight year an America East team will face N.C. State to begin regional play. Binghamton dropped its opening game to the Wolfpack in Raleigh, N.C. last year.
- Overall, America East teams are 11-35 since the NCAA format change in 1999 which includes six wins by Stony Brook in 2012. America East teams have won nine games since 2009.
