Led by Lyle Thompson’s first-team selection, four America East men’s lacrosse standouts earned All-America status from the USILA Wednesday. Thompson was joined by Stony Brook’s Mike Rooney (third team) and Challen Rogers (honorable mention) and fellow Great Dane Connor Fields (honorable mention).

Thompson, a senior attackman, is an All-American for the third straight year. The first three-time America East Player of the Year, Thompson leads Division I in points per game with 6.37 and assists per game at 3.63, totaling 52 goals and 69 assists for 121 points on the year. The NCAA all-time points leader, he is again a finalist for the Tewaraaton Award after sharing the honor with his brother Miles last year.

Rooney, a senior attackman, posted one of the greatest seasons in Stony Brook history with school-records of 63 assists and 111 points. The first team All-America East selection also scored 48 goals, a season-high, recording more points in 2015 than in 2013 and 2014 combined.

Rogers, a junior midfielder, produced another 50-point season with a career-high 30 goals and 23 assists. A first-team all-conference midfielder for the second straight year, he averaged more than three points per game in conference play and scored a career-high five goals at Vermont.

Fields, a freshman attackman is Albany’s first-ever freshman All-American. The America East Rookie of the Year tallied 66 goals this season, the highest total for any freshman in NCAA Division I history and ninth all-time in a single season. Fields is third in DI with 3.47 goals per game and eighth in points per game at 4.63 a contest.

In total, America East has had 45 men's lacrosse All-Americans since 2007.
