The America East Baseball Championship begins Thursday at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass. with two games starting at 1 p.m. ET. No. 1 Stony Brook takes on No. 4 Hartford in game one, followed by No. 2 UMBC and No. 3 Maine at 5 p.m.

Championship Notes
- The America East Baseball Championship returns to LeLacheur Park for the third-straight year. The tournament will continue to be held in Lowell through 2017.
- No. 1 seed has won nine titles overall and is 38-19 since the tournament went to four-team format in 1998. Since ‘98, the No. 1 seed has lost its opening game only four times and has failed to reach the championship round only five times including four-straight years form 2003-06 and 2010
- No. 2 seed is 24-27 since 1998 and has a total of six tournament titles. The No. 2 seed has lost its opening game eight times but just twice in the last seven years. No. 2 seeds have only been to the championship round twice in the last five seasons.
- No. 3 seeds are 27-27 all-time since 1998 and have won four titles, including Binghamton last year. No. 3 seeds also won titles in 2010, 2007 and 2006. The third seed has reached the championship round eight times, but has lost its opening game in three of the last four years and five of the last seven.
- No. 4 seeds have won two titles, with both coming in back-to-back years in 2003 & 2004.
- In 2014, Binghamton became the second team in America East history to lose its opening game and then go on to win the championship. Maine also did so as a No. 1 seed in 2002.
- A team has come out of the loser’s bracket to win three times since 1998 including in 1999, 2002 and 2014.
- The championship has gone to the if necessary game six times since 1998 including in 2014, ‘13, ‘05, ‘03, ‘02 and 1999.
