Three America East women's lacrosse standouts were named Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) All-Americans, the organization announced Monday evening. A total of 48 student-athletes were honored on the Division I level across three teams.
Albany senior attacker Maureen Keggins, Stony Brook junior defender Maegan Meritz and freshman attacker Kylie Ohlmiller were all named IWLCA Third Team All-Americans, the most honorees in one season in America East history. Each of the honorees was also an America East major award winner.
Keggins, the America East Offensive Player of the Year, set the conference record in league games with 41 points. She also currently leads the country with 5.00 points per game and 58 total assists. She captained an Albany offense that averaged 14.72 goals per game.
Meritz, the America East Defensive Player of the Year, anchored a Stony Broko defense that led the nation in scoring defense for the second-straight season at 5.50 goals against per game. The junior averaged 1.90 round balls per game.
Ohlmiller, the America East Rookie of the Year, had an outstanding freshman campaign where she averaged 4.30 points per game to rank ninth in the country and first among all freshmen. She was balanced on the attack for the Seawolves, finishing the year with 42 goals and 44 assists.
