Albany senior Lyle Thompson and UMass Lowell freshman Courtney Barrett were named Fans' Choice Players of the Year as voting came to an end on Tuesday, April 28.
Thompson, the NCAA all-time career points leader, garnered 1,700 fan votes of the 4,074 total, an astounding 41.73% of the total votes. Thompson leads the nation, averaging 6.13 points per game, and has Albany as the No. 1 seed in the America East Championship. The senior attackman has helped Albany be the top scoring offense in the country at 17.27 goals per game.
UMass Lowell's Cory Highfield finished second in the voting (854 votes) followed by Vermont's Cam Milligan. Here are the final standings:

Barrett leads the America East with 10.18 saves per game as the goalkeeper for the River Hawks. UMass Lowell was in its first year as a Division I program. She received 1,309 of the 3,956 total votes, goo for 33.09%.
Vermont's Jessica Roach placed second in the voting (882 votes) followed by New Hampshire's Laura McHoul (556). Here are the final standings:
