BOSTON - With just one week left in the softball regular season, nothing has been decided for the 2015 America East Softball Championship. Just 2 1/2 games separate the top five teams in conference standings with Stony Brook (9-2), Albany (7-4), Maine (7-4), Binghamton (8-5) and UMBC (7-5) all fighting for tournament bids and seeding. Player of the Week
Jessica Burk, Maine - Sr., OF, Warrenton, Va.
- Reached base six times in eight plate appearances for a .750 on-base percentage last week leading Maine to a three-game sweep of Hartford.
- Batted .667 (4-for-6).
- Scored four runs and drove in four.
- Slugged 1.333 with a double and home run.
Pitcher of the Week
Alexis Bogdanovich, Maine - Sr., P, South Portland, Maine
- Went 3-0 while not allowing a run in 11 1/3 innings of work last week. ERA last week.
- Picked up all three victories in Maine's sweep of Hartford.
- Allowed just three hits and walked only one.
- Fanned 22 Hawk hitters.
- Fifth Pitcher of the Week honor of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Jessica Rutherford, Binghamton - Fr., OF, Horseheads, N.Y.
- Had a .400/.400/.900 slash line in Binghamton’s three-game sweep of UMBC.
- Belted two doubles and a homer.
- Drove in three runs and scored two.
- Second straight Rookie of the Week honor.
Notes
- Binghamton, Maine and Albany won conference series over the weekend with the Bearcats and Black Bears earning sweeps and the Great Danes taking two of three from UMass Lowell.
- Lisa Cadogan hit .444 to lead the Bearcats to a sweep of UMBC by scores of 8-5, 5-2 and 4-0.
- Alexis Bogdanovich earned all three wins in Maine's three game sweep of Hartford, winning by scores of 8-0, 5-4 and 10-0.
- Albany and UMass Lowell split Saturday's doubleheader with the Great Danes winning the opener, 10-1, and the River Hawks winning the nightcap, 7-3. The Great Danes won the rubber game, 7-2, Sunday.
- Bria Green is tied for ninth nationally with a .957 slugging percentage.
- Alexis Bogdanovich is 22nd nationally striking out 8.9 hitters per seven innings.
- Albany and Stony Brook play a makeup doubleheader Tuesday in a matchup of the top two teams in the league standings.
- UMBC and Maine play a twinbill Wednesday.
- On the final weekend of the season with series being played Friday and Saturday, Albany hosts Hartford, Binghamton entertains Maine and UMBC visits Stony Brook.
