A pair of America East basketball standouts have been recognized for their play on the court this season as Stony Brook's Jameel Warney and Albany's Shereesha Richards earned Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention recognition Tuesday.

Warney, America East's sixth repeat Player of the Year, led the conference in scoring (16.4 ppg), rebounding (11.7 rpg) and blocks (2.5) becoming the first player since Marqus Blakely in 2007-8 to lead the league in those three categories. The junior  tallied 24 double-doubles and grabbed 409 rebounds, both of which led Division I. He also earned first-team all-conference honors and was an All-Championship selection for the second-straight year.

Richards is only the second America East women's basketball player every to be honored as an Associated Press All-Ameircan and the first since Maine's Cindy Blodgett in 1998. The accolade is fitting as Richards' 23.1 points per game average in conference play was also the highest for an America East player since Blodgett in the 1998 season. She is the fifth player to be named Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons while also becoming just the fifth player to be named the America East Tournament Most Outstanding Player multiple times after scoring 20-plus points in each of her three games.
