BOSTON, Mass. - Three America East women's lacrosse teams enter a big week of conference play with unblemished league records with Albany (2-0), Stony Brook (1-0) and Vermont (1-0) all tied atop the standings. The Seawolves won a pair of conference games this week after entering the top-10 of the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll at No. 8. Stony Brook is one of two remaining unbetean teams in the country. Albany is also in the top-20 of the country and will battle Stony Brook next Saturday at 6 p.m. Most America East teams will play a pair of conference contests this week with three league games on Wednesday followed by three more on Saturday. Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Maureen Keggins, Albany, Sr., A, Watertown, N.Y.
- Set a career-high with 10 points in Albany's 16-5 conference win over New Hampshire.
- Notched a career-high seven assists to gow ith three goals.
- It was her fourth-straight multi-assist game.
- The 10 points and seven assists were the most for any America East player in a game this season.
- Ranks second in points and assists in Albany DI program history.
Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Jessica Roach, Vermont, A, Sr., Scituate, Mass.
- Matched a career-high with seven goals in an, 11-10, victory over conference-foe UMBC.
- Added four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
- The seven goals were tied for the most by an America East player in a game this year.
- Finished with a .636 shooting percentage.
- Moved into thrid place on UVM's all-time goals list with 137.
Defensive Player of the Week
Alyssa Fleming, Stony Brook, Jr., Shoreham, N.Y.
- Helped Stony Brook to a pair of non-conference wins, holding Rutgers to four goals and Oregon to three.
- Tied for the game lead in caused turnovers, forcing three vs. Rutgers to go with two ground balls.
- Was part of a Stony Brook defense that held Rutgers to just seven shots.
- Led the game with three ground balls vs. Oregon, holding the Ducks scoreless for the final 24:54.
- Was named Baltimore Sun National Player of the Week last week.
Rookie of the Week
Kylie Ohlmiller, Stony Brook, Fr., West Islip, N.Y.
- Led all freshmen in goals per game (2.00) assists per game (1.50) and points per game (3.50) last week.
- Scored a goal and added an assist in a win over Rutgers.
- Tallied three goals and two assists while causing a game-high four turnovers in a win over Oregon.
- Has recorded multiple points in each of her first nine games.
Notes
- Many America East teams will play two games this week with three conference contests set for Wednesday and three more on the usual Saturday playing date.
- Albany and Stony Brook, the only two ranked America East teams, are set to play at Stony Brook Saturday at 6 p.m.
- As of March 30, Albany is holding at No. 8 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll while Albany sits at No. 18. In the March 23 IWLCA Coaches' Poll, Stony Brook was No. 12 and Albany was No. 19.
- Vermont has won five-straight games after its win over UMBC.
- Stony Brook's 9-0 start is the best in program history. The Seawolves are one of two remaining unbeaten teams in the country.
- UNH's Lauran McHoul has 30 points with an equal amount of goals and assists. On the other hand for the Wildcats, Laura Puccia has recorded all 13 of her points on goals.
- Stony Brook has held 27 of its last 30 opponents to single-digit goals, including eight of nine this season.
- Stony Brook's 12-11 win over No. 6/7 Florida was its first vs. a top-10 opponent in program history.
- Albany has scored 20-plus goals four times this season.
- Vermont head coach Jen Johnson became the program’s all-time winningest coach with her 77th career win at UVM vs. Sacred Heart.
