FAYETTVILLE, Ark. - Three America East runners competed at the NCAA Indoor track & field championships this past weekend, two of whom earned Second Team All-America status.
New Hampshire senior distance runner Anne Twombly ran in the mile race, and finished with a time of 4:46.69. At the conclusion of the season, Twombly ranked 14th in the country with her time, and her efforts in Arkansas earned her All-America Second Team status.
Stony Brook junior Christina Melian placed 13th in the 5,000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 16:17.26. Her placement garners her Second Team All-America status.
Jesse Garn qualified for the 800-meter race at the NCAA Championships, however he was disqualified from the event due to a false start. Despite the hiccup at the championships, the senior still had an incredible season, being named the USTFCCCA Northeast Region's Men's Track Athlete of the Year.
Garn was later added into the recepient list as an honorable mentioned All-American.
