- Stony Brook crushed Manhattan, 19-3, in its first season-opening win since 2010 Saturday behind four goals and two assists from Challen Rogers.
- UMBC fell at #5 Johns Hopkins, 16-4, in its earliest season opener in program history.
- Ian MacKay and James Barlow each scored three goals in Vermont's 15-8 to #14 Penn State Saturday.
- Albany, which opens its season Feb. 21, is ranked 12th in the USILA Coaches Poll and 11th in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
- Reigning Co-Tewaaraton Award winner Lyle Thompson was named the national preseason Player of the Year by several publications.
- Three teams open their seasons this weekend, including UMass Lowell, which will play its first-ever game as a program.
