WASHINGTON, D.C. – The 2014 Co-Tewaaraton Trophy winner Lyle Thompson headlined three America East lacrosse standouts named to the  2015 Tewaararton Award Watch List, released on Thursday night. Thompson, a senior for two-time defending America East champion Albany, was joined by Stony Brook's Challen Rogers as two of 50 men's selections while the Seawolves' Michelle Rubino was the league's lone women's player listed.

Thompson, a two-time America East Player of the Year, shared the Tewaaraton Trophy in 2014 with his brother, Miles, after setting a new NCAA single season record of 128 points off 51 goals and 77 assists. He had a goal and an assist in Albany's season-opening win over Drexel Saturday as he pursues the NCAA's all-time career scoring record.

Rogers, a junior midfielder, was a preseason All-America choice after racking up 52 points as a sophomore and earning first-team all-conference accolades. He has 12 points in seven goals and five assists through three games this season.

Rubino, a senior midfielder, is one of 50 women on the watch list. Named for the second consecutive year, Rubino earned first-team all-conference honors in 2014 and was a preseason All-America choice this year. She already ranks sixth in school history in goals (103), seventh in points (148) and eighth in assists (45) and has eclipsed 30 goals in each of her first three seasons.

The watch list may have additions as the year goes forward. The list will be narrowed to 25 on April 23 and five finalists will be named on May 7. The 2015 Tewaaraton Trophy, which an America East student-athlete has won three times, will be awarded on May 28.
