The 2015 America East Playoffs start oin less than a week and the playoff picture came into much clearer focus following Wednesday's games with the top six seeds getting decided.
- Albany (14-1 America East)
- Vermont (12-3 - holds tiebreaker over Stony Brook)
- Stony Brook (11-4 - holds tiebreaker over UNH)
- New Hampshire (10-5)
- Hartford (7-8)
- Binghamton (4-11)
UMBC (2-13) and Maine (2-13) are currently tied. The Retrievers hold the tiebreaker and would be No. 7 with a win or a Black Bear loss Saturday.
Albany 67, at UMBC 49
- Clinched its first outright America East regular-season title and No. 1 seed since the 2005-06 season.
- Eclipsed the 20-win mark for the fourth time as a Division I program.
- Sam Rowley recorded a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds.
at Vermont 64, New Hampshire 49
- Vermont secured the No. 2 seed for the #AEPlayoffs.
- It will be the 12th time in the last 14 years the Catamounts will be seeded second or better.
- UNH is the No. 4 seed, its best finish since the 2008-09 season.
- UVM closed the game on a 27-9 run and held UNH to one field goal over the final 14:57 the contest.
at Stony Brook 75, UMass Lowell 60
- Stony Brook earned the No. 3 seed for the #AEPlayoffs, fifth time in six years it'll be seeded third or better.
- The win last night was the Seawolves's 20th win, giving them their fourth-straight 20-win campaign.
- Jameel Warney (23 pts, 12 rebs) and Rayshaun McGrew (10 pts, 10 rebs) both posted double-doubles.
Hartford 63, at Maine 60
- Hartford will be the No. 5 seed for the #AEPlayoffs.
- The Hawks shot 52 percent in the second half to earn a season split with Maine.
- John Carroll had 15 points and six boards off the bench.
- Maine can earn the No. 7 seed with a win over UNH Saturday and a UMBC loss to Binghamton.
