BOSTON - Two more America East softball teams opened their 2015 seasons last weekend as Binghamton and Maine kicked off their campaigns. Each team posted a win and had a weekly award winner. - Hit .471 (8-for-17) with a .550 on-base percentage and .765 slugging percentage in five games.
- Drove in eight runs and scored five
- Hit a homer and two doubles.
- Reached base all four times against Georgia Southern with three hits, including her first career homer, a double, three RBI and two runs scored.
Pitcher of the Week
Alexis Bogdanovich, Maine - Sr., P, South Portland, Maine
- Went 1-1 in the circle with a 1.50 ERA in two complete-game efforts.
- Pitched Maine to its first win of the season allowing just one run on six hits while walking none and striking out five in a win over Jacksonville State Friday.
- Was the tough-luck loser in the Black Bears' 2-0 defeat to James Madison Saturday, allowing just two runs and again fanning five.
Notes
- Binghamton went 2-3 in its opening games of 2015, beating Campbell, 9-8, Saturday and Tennessee Tech, 6-2, Sunday.
- The Bearcats scored 42 runs in their five games.
- Maine started its season 1-4 and posted a 3-1 win over Jacksonville State in its season opener Friday.
- UMass Lowell went 2-3 at the Dot Richardson Invitational, posting wins over Chattanooga and Middle Tennessee State.
- Stony Brook, last year's regular-season champion, was tabbed first the America East preseason coaches' poll.
- The Seawolves and Albany, last year's America East champion, begin their seasons Friday.
