Muses Earns AVCA All-Region Recognition

New Hampshire junior middle blocker Demi Muses(Orangevale, Calif.) was named American Volleyball Coaches Association All-East Region Honorable Mention, announced Tuesday.
 
She becomes the third player in program history to receive the honor, joining Beth Cole (1997) and Aly Coler (2002).
 
Muses, who was also honored as the America East co-Player of the Year and a member of the All-Conference First Team, had a stellar junior season with the Wildcats as the team garnered its third straight America East title, earning an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
 
The middle blocker set career highs in several statistical categories in 2015. She led the team in points (358.0) and blocks (72), and ranked in second kills per set (2.81), hitting percentage (.269), digs per set (2.97) and service aces (31). Muses merited eight double-doubles, good for second on the 'Cats.
 
In America East matches, she elevated her level of play, landing 3.06 kills per set and posting a .322 hitting percentage, good for fifth and third in the league respectively. Additionally, she ranked second in service aces per set (0.56) and 10th in digs per set (3.06).
 
During the 2015 campaign, Muses was twice named America East Player of the Week. In the Rambler Classic finale against Wake Forest University (Aug. 29), Muses led the Wildcats with 18 kills, eight blocks and seven digs on the strength of a .459 hitting percentage and earned all-tournament honors in the four-set win (15-25, 25-19, 25-21, 29-27). Against the University at Albany in the America East title match (Nov. 21), the junior middle blocker shoveled out a career-high 23 kills to backbone the 'Cats to a four-set win (25-22, 23-25, 25-23, 25-21) and their third consecutive conference championship.
