INDIANAPOLIS – Men's basketball sophomore guard Trae Bell-Haynes has been named as a nominee for the 2016 Allstate NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) Good Works Team. Bell-Haynes is one of 154 Division I men's basketball student-athletes to be nominated for the award.

In its fourth year, the Allstate NABC Good Works Team recognizes players at all levels of college basketball who have made outstanding contributions in the areas of volunteerism and civic involvement.

Special voting panels, headlined by former NBA All-Star Grant Hill and WNBA legend Tamika Catchings, will select two 10-member teams comprised of five student-athletes from the NCAA Division I level and five student-athletes from Divisions II, III and the NAIA.

Bell-Haynes has been an active member of the Burlington community since arriving on campus last summer. A member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council, Bell-Haynes works with Vermont Special Olympics, Edmunds Middle School and other organizations that make a difference in the community.

On the court, the Toronto, Ontario native was named to the America East All-Rookie team following his freshman year and currently leads the team in scoring averaging 13.4 points per game. He scored a career-high 28 points in a win over Niagara earlier this season.
